Health Savings Account (HSA)

An HSA offers employees an opportunity to put money away tax-free for medical expenses.  Unlike flex spending, the HSA is an employee’s personal account, can grow with interest, and is portable when leaving LFA. Employees enrolled in the medical plan with BCBS are automatically enrolled in a Health Savings Account with HR Pro, unless an employee is enrolled in Medicare Part A.  

Employees can also contribute to the Health Savings Account through payroll, and elections can be changed at any time. Money in the account can grow over the years and be used for medical expenses during retirement, or even as taxable income after age 65.

HR PRO is our HSA vendor who offers employees an opportunity to place tax free dollars into account to help with medical costs.

We encourage employees to reference the documents below and to also view the HR PRO website for more information . It is important that you register online, if you're new to the program, as you must sign off on the agreements and discloures before your funds can become available.
